Lea Haber Kuck

Ms. Kuck is an independent arbitrator whose philosophy and approach is shaped by her thirty years of experience representing sophisticated commercial clients in complex disputes around the world.
She recognizes that one of the benefits of arbitration is the ability to tailor the process to meet the needs of the disputing parties, and, in consultation with the parties, strives to design a process geared to fairly and efficiently resolving the particular dispute before her. She applies the principles of dedicated client service to her work as arbitrator including being responsive, diligent, practical, and sensitive to the business concerns of the parties.
Background
Prior to launching her full-time arbitrator practice, Ms. Kuck was a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP in the international litigation and arbitration group advising clients around the world on the resolution of complex disputes arising out of international business transactions under various arbitration rules and in the United States courts.
She has experience across geographic regions in a range of industries, including financial services, telecommunications, securities, insurance and reinsurance, food and beverage, gaming, hotel, energy, chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive, aviation, manufacturing, shipping, and construction, as well as in the context of mergers and acquisitions, joint venture, shareholder and SPAC disputes.
Ms. Kuck is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the AAA/IDCR International, Large Complex Case, and Commercial Panels of Arbitrators. She is available to serve as tribunal chair, party-nominated, sole or emergency arbitrator.
Ms. Kuck has been a leader in the arbitration community, including serving as Chair of the New York City Bar Association Arbitration Committee and Co-chair of New York Arbitration Week 2021. She is a member of the ICCA-NYC Bar-CPR Working Group on Cybersecurity, which recently released the Cybersecurity Protocol for International Arbitration, and of the Editorial Board of the New York Dispute Resolution Lawyer. She frequently writes and speaks on arbitration topics.
